Recent years have brought new activities for me. I am not a sharp shooter by any means but I am fully capable of handling weapons of various types. One of my favorites is a bow. Last year, I picked out my very first bow and began to practice. I absolutely love it! I still need a lot more practice and knowledge but it is amazing. We have a small archery range in our town that we can visit to practice and I need to visit it more. As the weather warms up, perhaps I will be able to get out there a couple times a week. Last fall, I was able to go out once with Andy to deer hunt. Here's my problem, I get cold. Like REAL cold. Even with gloves and boots and proper gear, I get cold. I have Raynaud's syndrome where, in short, my hands and feet do not like to circulate blood properly. So being out in a lot of extreme temperatures is super challenging for my body. Living in Minnesota with the weather and it's crazy mood swings makes it super tricky. I want to hunt, but need to find ways to keep my body warm.
At the Minnesota Deer Classic show, I purchased a heated grip from Bowhilt, I am SUPER excited about it as it can help my hands stay warm while I hunt. I also purchased a new bow sling, the SLING-A-LING. This sling will allow my bow to be at the ready while I keep my hands as warm as possible until I need to have my hand on that grip. I am very excited about these two pieces that could help me be able to stay out and hunt more and longer. Any other hunters out there who have some tips and tricks to stay warm? I would love to hear your suggestions!
