Books, Books, Books!

As a part of my 40 before 40, I began reading this year.  Not just reading, also listening to audio books.  I spend a great deal of time in the car and listening to books has become a favorite pastime.  I typically read and listen to crime novels.  Some are intense, others are a bit less so.  I also really enjoy reading romance novels.  This year I have discovered Colleen Hoover, Blake Pierce, and Riley Dark.  I am also venturing into a non-fiction book, It's Not About the Banana by Tonya De'laine.  I have just started that one, I will post the review on that one when I have finished listening to it.  So far, I am VERY intrigued by it.

Books have always been a way for me to be transported to another place.  When I read I get fully immersed in the book.  It is like I am right there along with the characters.  I am with them while they solve that mystery or celebrate their wedding or cry about a broken heart.  How do you feel when you read a good book, a book that can bring you to another place?  I remember loving to read from a very young age.  My mom was a teacher as I was growing up, so reading was always happening in our house.  One of my fondest memories, is my mom taking me to the local library to check out books.  I loved being able to look through all the books and take my time to select just the right ones to hold me over until we could get to the library next.  Growing up, I loved The Boxcar Children books and The Babysitter's Club series.  As an adult, I find myself intrigued by mysteries, true crime, and romance.  What are your favorite books to read?  Any series to recommend?

I just finished reading this one, Where the Crawdads Sing. I'm trying to read one paper book a month and one on Kindle or audible. New paperback is called Find Her, I found it at Dollar General. So far so good. I love you sis! I am so proud of you! I can't wait to see what else you have on your list. Hoping to get inspired right along with you!

Where The Crawdads Sing, It's Not Supposed To Be This Way. I used to love Dean Koontz. Mystery, scary type stuff. What recommendations do you have?
